Twenty Lyrics as Two Emotional Words on Leaves with Residue (2018 spring)

In collaboration with the Public Poetics Project, twenty students, twenty lyric poems, two words–“the most emotional”–selected by each student from each poem. Students choose two leaves collected by me from a roadside, choose where and how to inscribe their words on each, then arrange them by chance in a line across a central pathway on the campus of Lebanon Valley College. Some leaves blow away quickly. This video captures the remaining leaves from this site-specific, ephemeral, dynamic, constraint-based, multi-authored, cadavre exquis lyric (as part of the Introduction to the Study of Literature, Spring 2018).
